The FORTRESS of SOLITUDE

"So morbid...a sentimental replica of a planet long since vanished..."
~ General Zod

Thundercats...HO!

Took a little break from blogging while the boyfriend was in Toronto. Didn't have much to write about anyway - I'm cool that way.

Had a memorable time, to say the least. Was really special and surprising.

*cough*

Anyway, anyway, anyway...

...in LIGHTER news. The DALLAS Season 3 (which is actually Season 2*) box-set comes out in FIVE days. Count them, FIVE.

*Unlike the DVD producers, who can't count, since the first box-set was touted as Seasons 1 & 2...in fact, it was the miniseries and Season 1. DALLAS started out as a miniseries, with 5 episodes, "Digger's Daughter," "Lessons," "Winds of Change," "A Spy In The House," and "The barbecue." With Pam losing her baby as JR drunkenly pushes her off the hay loft.
THAT was the miniseries, and then we had 20 episodes or so which was Season ONE. This new boxset is Season TWO technically...but, really, why split hairs? BECAUSE IT'S FUCKING WRONG.

Moving on swiftly...

Quite excited to get the new box set, not just because DALLAS is the GREATEST TV SHOW EVER...but because this particular season (2 or 3) ends with the most famous cliffhanger ever...WHO SHOT JR?

Not including, of course, Commander Riker's infamous, "...fire," at the end of Best of Both Worlds Part I, when Jean-Luc Picard had been unceremoniously assimilated by the Borg, and suffered the ignominy of grey make-up and red lights glued to his face...

Or the time the entire wedding party was blow away in Moldavia on Dynasty...

Yep.

DALLAS* did it first.

*I'm sure other shows of lesser degree did it before, but really...who cares?

The JR cliffhanger wasn't the only cliffhanger on Dallas - it is arguably out-done by the infamous shower scene with Patrick Duffy to end Season 8. And although it's been ragged on ad infinitum, if you actually watched the show and remember what that little "Good morning" solved as far as HORRID plot-lines about shipping magnates and Barbara Carrera's rampaging wardrobe of peacock-feather-encrusted, wafty dresses...it was the ONLY way out of the downward spiral.

Interesting - I was intending to write about Thundercats in this blog, but I have yet to get to it. Very stream of consciousness - like Rosie's bloated and pretentious, I'm-too-good-to-spell-or-form-complete-sentences blog.

Huh? Moving on...

...so I downloaded the ENTIRE FARKING SERIES of Thundercats*.

*If you have a torrent program, you can go to IsoHunt and type in "Thundercats" - the two halves of the entire series are there somewhere. Warning, it's 6 gigs in total.

This was my FAVOURITE animated program as a child, and WELL INTO HIGHSCHOOL; I'll freely admit. The show is just SO good...no moral lesson, really, just fun times and great incidental, recycled music, a great theme, great characters, fun design. Just FUN. PERIOD.

With Snarf running around, whining...

...SCHNNNNARF! Lion-O! SCHNARF!

Fag.

Anyway, anyway, anyway...

Thunder...thunder...thundercats! HO!!!

Epilogue:

Speaking of great TV coming to DVD - Thundercats AND He-Man and the Masters of the Universe are making their way to a DVD shop near you in the next month.

SNARF!
